Does the Magi Manda Continue Past the Anime
Despite being the most important character to Magi, Aladdin can often feel like he's taking a backseat to his partner Alibaba. That's because, for the most part, he tends to be more of a reflective character, only allowing his personality to show when he's involved in something he really cares about, like learning about magic.
However, as the story of Magi reveals more about everyone's motives, it becomes clear that he's more than just a powerful magician. While this won't go too deeply into the storylines covered in the manga, it will be covering a lot of the aspects of the character viewers might not have known about otherwise.
10/10 Prefers To Study Magic
Another thing mentioned in the Magi encyclopedia is that Magi's favorite thing to do is studying magic and playing with friends. It's not a particularly mature set of actions, but Aladdin is also a very young character. He spends a lot of his time after getting free going on adventures and doesn't see the point in doing that without friends. At the same time, it's always best to study things you're best at.
9/10 Most Powerful Ability
Aladdin's most powerful ability in the anime is most likely the Scorching Heat Double Palms technique. This was a power that was originally used by his friend and teacher Ugo, and it took some time for Aladdin to learn how to master the ability. After a few months of training though, he gained enough power to completely obliterate large objects at far away distances.
8/10 His Character Song
Aladdin's character song is referred to as Magic, and it's sung by the woman who brings his voice to life. The song is an upbeat theme that describes Aladdin himself, talking about his constant desire to go traveling.
It also mentions the thing he values most: friendship, which is what he found when he met Alibaba and Morgiana, the people he's become closest to over the course of the series.
7/10 Loves Pretty Women
The Magi Official Guidebook mentions that Aladdin's biggest weakness is women. His favorite women are kind, younger women, while his least favorite kind is unfriendly women. None of this is particularly surprising, considering how often he's found feeling up pretty much every woman he meets.
6/10 Enjoys Reading
Mentioned in multiple different spotlights on Aladdin is that one of his biggest hobbies is reading. He's got a sort of boundless interest in how things work, constantly looking to read and learn new things. He's even given a pair of special glasses that can translate any sort of language whether new or old, allowing him to easier understand any kind of text that he reads by Professor Irene.
5/10 Likes All Food
Discussed in one of the Magi guidebooks, Aladdin's favorite food happens to be watermelons, and he doesn't actually seem to have food he doesn't like. This explains why he managed to gain even more weight than Alibaba did when they were in Sindria and trying to get over their losses. In Aladdin's case, he needed to eat large amounts of food to be able to summon his partner Ugo and utilize magic, but his love of food remains constant throughout the series.
4/10 Wishes His Brother Was Sphintus
In one of the side chapters for Magi, Aladdin is asked who he wishes his real sibling was. Rather than answering Alibaba or Morgiana, Aladdin's answer is Sphintus, his roommate while he was at the mage-focused Magnostadt Academy.
He pointed out how he likes that Sphintus was family-oriented, kind, and good at taking care of people. This points to how much Aladdin enjoys being around anyone who cares about the people closest to them.
3/10 Master of All Types Of Magic
Most magicians in the series tend to be talented at only a single type of magic. But Aladdin's desire to focus on his magic studying has granted him the ability to use multiple types of magic. We've seen him utilize Heat Magic, his specialty in the series, but that's not all. He's shown mastery over Light Magic, Lightning Magic, Water Spells, Wind Magic, Gravity Magic, and even magic like clairvoyance. He's even learned how to alter his own strength to make himself stronger by altering the laws of physics themselves.
2/10 Also Known As...
Aladdin's original voice actress is Kaori Ishihara, a young woman who's made several smaller appearances in a number of series in the decade since she began doing voice acting. She's been in series like Castle Town Dandelion and Sword Art Online: Alicization. She's also known for doing music for some of the series she's worked on, and even playing several roles in video game series. Aladdin's English voice actress is Erica Mendez, who's been the legendary Ryuko Matoi in Kill la Kill, Denki in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, and several other major characters across some of the more modern anime series.
1/10 He Was Originally A Woman
Some of the earliest designs of Aladdin had him looking mostly the same as he does now, but there's one important difference: Aladdin was almost a girl. The creator initially thought about making him into a woman, though this version of the character looked almost exactly the same. Still, Ohtaka eventually decided to make him a male instead, which would have been an interesting development considering Aladdin's affinity for beautiful women and feeling up any of them he meets.
